Why We Started Kingdom Stuff: A Story of Faith and Identity
Every brand has a what. What it makes, what it sells, what's in the box. But the things that last usually begin with a why. So before you see a single design, I want to tell you ours.
It started with a verse
Jesus said "In this manner therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven…" scripture found in the Gospel of Matthew 6:9-10.
What I can tell you is what it stirred up in us: a deep desire to make something about what matters most. Not a side project, not a trend, but something that reflects our love for Jesus, his word, his heart, and his Spirit, and the life of our family that grows out of it.
Because faith is identity
The more we thought about it, the more we realised this was about identity. Who we are isn't decided by our jobs, our moods, or how the week went. Scripture is wonderfully clear about it:
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17, KJV)
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation…" (1 Peter 2:9, KJV)
Chosen. New. Royal. That's not a small thing to carry around, and it's worth being reminded of on the ordinary days when it's easy to forget. You'll see a crown and koru on everything we make, and we'll share the story behind that soon.
Why the word, and why like this
We believe the Bible is alive. Not a relic, not a museum piece, but "quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword" (Hebrews 4:12, KJV). Every believer has a verse that has reached into their own heart and stayed there. Kingdom Stuff exists to bring those familiar, much-loved words to life in designs that are clever, simple, and powerful.
We also wanted to do it in a certain spirit: lighthearted, respectful, and reverent, without the stiffness. Faith is serious, but that doesn't mean it can't be joyful. We'd like Kingdom Stuff to feel like a friend who loves Jesus, not a lecture.
More than something to wear
Here's our real hope. Yes, we want fellow believers around the world to be encouraged, comforted, and strengthened by a verse they can wear, use, and live in. But we also see every design as a small proclamation, a quiet declaration of the good news of God's Son and the kingdom that's coming.
If someone reads one of these verses and gets curious, and takes even one step toward knowing Jesus as their own Lord and Saviour, then every bit of this is worth it.
